Nail Booster Oil
Horse tail is very rich in silica, which is miraculous nail strenghtener (as well as other minerals like iron, magnesium and potassium) and after a few weeks use your nails should be strong and flexible - the ideal combination. You don't want nails so hard that they snap, which is the efect most commercial nail hardeners have.
TiPs :
20g fresh horsetail stems or 10g dried horsetail, finely chopped 2 tbsp almond oil or neem oil
Place the horsetail and the oil in the top of a double boiler and heat gently. Allow to cool and poor the whole micture into a screw top jar, leave to stand for 1 week in the sun, then strain. Use nightly, on unvarnished nails, and massage into cuticles, to stimulate blood flow. For a deep nail-strengthening treatment, once a week gently warm this oil in a double-biler nd soak nails for 20 minutes.
TIPS :
To whiten nails, particularly if the have gone yellow from the use of polish - mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice in to 1 tablespoon orange-flower water and sweep over nails once a day
